Aj+: 60 DAYS IN SOLITARY AT A WOMEN'S PRISON

Deborah spent two months in solitary confinement at a women's prison in New York. A day after she got out, she intentionally broke a rule in order to get back into solitary. Sound surprising? Let her tell you her story.

Deborah was one of 12 women I interviewed for a year-long project documenting the effects of solitary confinement on women. Her story personified the experience of women in solitary, so we chose to focus on Deborah for this video.
